Recently, a few friends and I decided to take the 6 hour road trip from Tampa to Atlanta. It wasn’t extremely planned out, all we knew is that we were attending the Rihanna concert.
We left Tampa after work at around 6pm and arrived in Atlanta around midnight. We checked in to our hotel and went straight to bed. It was probably around 8:30 or 9:00 in the morning when I started annoying them to wake up because I wanted to see as much of the city as we possibly could in 2 days. Our hotel was right across the street from Centennial Olympic Park, so it was easy for us to walk to the majority of the tourist areas.
We walked over to the World Of Coca – Cola museum and at the ticket window, we were informed of the CityPass program.
After convincing ourselves that $75 would be worth it to see all these tourist sites, we definitely signed up!
Here was our itinerary for the two days:
- 11:00am – World of Coca Cola Museum
Favorite Parts: Moments Of Happiness film in the Coca-Cola Theater & The Taste It! Room
- 1:30pm – Georgia Aquarium
- 4:00pm – SkyView Ferris Wheel Ride (Pictured above, not part of CityPass)
- 7:00pm – Rihanna Concert
- 10:00am – College Football Hall Of Fame and Chick-Fil-A Fan Experience
Favorite Parts: The Indoor Playing Field & the Helmet Wall in the Quad
- 12:00pm – CNN World Headquarters Studio Tour
Favorite Parts: The World’s Longest & Tallest Free-Standing Escalator
- 2:00pm – lunch at The Sun Dial Restaurant
Favorite Parts: That it rotated, the views, and obviously the food! (picture below)
After lunch at The Sun Dial Restaurant, we started our road trip back to Tampa. While we weren’t able to see the ENTIRE city of Atlanta in the 2 days, we were able to see the majority of the tourist sites, and at a great price thanks to CityPass! I can’t wait to visit again!
CityPass is available in the following cities: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa Bay and Toronto
