2017… wow what a year! I know I haven’t been blogging much lately, but now that the hassle of 2017 is over, I am going to dedicate much more time to Angelina Ventures!
Just thinking back on the past year, so many fun and exciting, but also stressful, experiences, and I want to share them all with you guys.
2017 started out just like any other year for me, full of mystery and anticipation of what was to come. I was living in Tampa, FL at the time, and started the year off moving to another apartment in my favorite part of town. If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s packing and moving, but I thought it was worth it and it was! I loved my new apartment!
Well shortly after my move, my friend and I decided that we were going to spend a few weeks road tripping throughout Europe. This was by far the most exciting time of my life! I have never seen so many beautiful countries, met so many wonderful people, and ate so much delicious foods than I have in those few weeks! I was able to visit countries such as Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. WOW! They were breathtaking! It was also on this trip that I realized how much I love hiking, and I have been craving to go ever since! Too bad Florida has no mountains….
Anyways, I come back from my vacation, and nothing was the same. Every time I did anything – drank tea, walked the dogs, saw the beach – all I did was compare it to Europe! It was bad.
So I go back to work, which I did love my job, but something was missing. There was no opportunity for growth, I felt like I was stagnant, not feeling challenged, and sat at my desk and daydreamed about having more excitement in my life.
In July, I decided to be super spontaneous again and fly out to Las Vegas for ONE NIGHT! It was nuts, and I can’t believe I spent 8 hours in a plane for just one night, but again…WORTH IT! Came back from my one night away, and again….bored at work!!
It was around that time I started searching for new opportunities. Now, I went to college in Texas, and really didn’t feel at home in Tampa. So I started looking for jobs to move back to the Lone Star State. My dream came true around the end of the year when I was offered a Marketing Job in the great state of Texas. I put in my 2 weeks, packed up my cute little apartment that I loved so much, signed a lease on an apartment I had never seen in my life, and was on my way! This is the main reason that I haven’t been blogging lately, but now I am all settled, loving my new apartment, loving my new job, and back on Angelina Ventures!
2017 was exciting to me because I was adventurous and spontaneous, and that’s exactly how I hope my 2018 is as well! (only with more trips hehe)
What were some of your favorite parts of 2017? Tell me in the comments!
